The Cowichan Valley Regional District has checked its list, twice, and Cowichan Community Policing is due for some holiday joy.
Board chair Jon Lefebure says the budget for community policing will be going up for the first time in a decade.
Lefebure says community policing members were spending too much time fundraising for their programs, so more fundraising will help them focus on programs.
At a recent CVRD meeting, the board proposed a bylaw that would increase the funding request by almost 25 per cent.
