A Cowichan Valley man is planning to charge up the climate change conversation by creating a solar energy farm.
Peter Nix is a retired environmental consultant and a member of the Cowichan Carbon Busters.
Nix says he has invested about $143,000 into purchasing the solar panels for the pilot project, which he plans to pitch to the CVRD and local governments in the new year.
He says once people catch onto the idea of renewable energy, the next step in removing fossil fuels would be making a switch to electric cars.
