The cross on Mt. Tzouhalem that was knocked down during a wind storm last week has been retrieved by a Cowichan Valley family and a few of their friends.

Warren Spencer along with mom Claire and father Dale as well as friends Kieran Hartford, Amoray Aloisi and Michael Fransen found the cross in a sloped gully, about 30 meters down the face of the mountain.

Spencer says the cross is now leaning on a rock, about 10 feet from where it use to be installed.
The Nature Conservancy of Canada owns the land where it use to reside on and it’s not yet clear what they plan to do with it.
