A burial ceremony will be held in Victoria Monday for 4 World War II airmen killed in a crash on Vancouver Island more than 70 years ago.
A logging crew working in a remote area near Port Renfrew found the wreckage of an Avro Anson in late 2013.
At the time Laurel Clegg, a Casualty ID Coordinator with the Department of National Defence, told Juice FM News there’d been no trace of that plane since it left on a training flight from a base near Sidney in 1942.
The bodies of Sergeant William Baird of the Royal Canadian Air Force, along with RAF members Charles Fox, Anthony Lawrence and Robert Luckock were recovered in May.
