More than 500 delegates and speakers are gathering in Nanaimo to take a long, hard look at the Island economy.
The Vancouver Island Economic Alliance’s annual summit runs until Thursday, and VIEA President George Hanson says they’ve attracted some high-profile guests.
Hanson says Premier Christy Clark will also be speaking on Thursday, just prior to the closing luncheon.
Sessions this year will tackle topics like waste management, opportunities in the green economy, women in leadership and aquaculture in BC.  Hanson says what comes out of the two-day session will give the Alliance its direction for the coming year.
