The body of murdered Canadian solider Nathan Cirillo is making its way to his hometown of Hamilton this afternoon.
The procession will follow the route known as the Highway of Heroes from Ottawa to southwestern Ontario. Funeral services will be held Tuesday.
Meanwhile, flowers are piling up at the National War Memorial, where the 24 year-old was gunned down while standing guard Wednesday. They’re also showing up at Cenotaphs across the country.
RCMP, meanwhile, are revealing more about the man who shot Cirillo.
32 year old Michael Zehaf-Bibeau lived in the Vancouver area until very recently, and has a criminal record for offenses in BC and Quebec.
RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson also says there’s evidence he held extremist views, but he wasn’t on the list of “high risk travellers” they’ve been tracking.
