If the skies are clear, a solar eclipse will be visible beginning at 1:30pm and ending just after 4:00pm Thursday.
Greg Arkos, an astronomy professor at Vancouver Island University, says it’s going to be a partial solar eclipse. He says in our area, about 65% of the sun will be covered at the peak of the eclipse. He says it’s a neat phenomenon to watch, but don’t be tempted to look directly at the sun.
Arkos says the best option is to make a simple pinhole camera.
