Housing and water appear to be big enough issues in the Cowichan Valley as ratepayers are willing to pay for services that address those issues.
Voters have given their thumbs up to both referendum questions on the ballot.
The question surrounding housing passed with 11,981 votes for it and 9,799 against the plan.
Â
The question surrounding water also passed with 12,890 for it and 6,667 against it.
Â
In both cases, there was a majority vote in each of Ladysmith, North Cowichan, Duncan, all of the electoral areas and the Town of Lake Cowichan.
