There are worries the cross on the southwest slope of Mt. Tzouhalem is a public safety risk and needs to be repaired.
JUICE-FM was contacted by a concerned citizen who noticed the welds at the base are broken and the concrete is cracking and coming off.
Tim Ennis is with the Nature Conservancy of Canada, the owners of the land.
Ennis says the installation will be inspected ASAP by a Cowichan Valley staff member.
He adds if anybody sees anything they feel needs to be reported on don’t hesitate to contact the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
