Shawnigan Lake RCMP say a spilled drink caused a Labour Day crash that left 4 injured.
The accident happened on Shawnigan Lake Road near Sooke Lake Road.
Constable Patrick Delano, of Shawnigan Lake RCMP, says the car rolled down an embankment after the driver got distracted and lost control after spilling a drink on herself.
A 19-year-old woman had to be airlifted to hospital while three other teens were taken by ambulance.
Delano says it’s important to take care on the roads, especially during high volume times such as long weekends, where any sort of distraction could create a dangerous situation.
Delano adds the car appeared to be a write-off after the accident.
