Some students in the Cowichan Valley have responded to the rotating teachers strike ongoing in BC with a walk out of their own.
The assistant superintendent of District School Board 79, Sheryl Koers, says about 25 to 30 kids in total from Grades 6 and 7 walked out on Wednesday for over an hour at Drinkwater Elementary school in Duncan.
We asked Koers if there will be any repercussions for the student’s actions.
According to a newsroom caller, another small group of students in Grade 8 and 9 walked out at Cowichan Secondary’s Quamichan Campus as well.
