Big Brothers, Big Sisters Cowichan is in the middle of a recruitment drive geared toward male mentors.
This non-profit organization has been in the Cowichan Valley for nearly 40 years and 21 little brothers are in need of male role models aged 19 and older.
Executive Director, Erin Generous says 53 children are looking for mentors throughout all Big Brothers, Big Sister’s programs, but the organization is in desperate need of male mentors.
Generous says volunteering is a worthwhile endeavor.
Generous says there is a screening process to make sure that each match is suitable.
There is also a need for Big Sister’s at the local organization, as a pool of little sisters is on the waitlist.
