A Duncan senior says curbs, sidewalks and ramps in town are impossible and dangerous for people using mobility aids.
Joyce Munn spoke to council after collecting over 200 signatures on a petition calling on the government to take action. She says she’s spoken to a number of people using mobility chairs, scooters, walkers and canes who all have their own horror stories.
She says other members of the community are affected too.
Munn says the wet snowy winter further adds a threat to their independence and safety. She is asking the town to perform the necessary repairs and changes to make sidewalks safer and more accessible for everyone.
