Nanaimo RCMP Investigate Theft of Charity Money

Nanaimo RCMP are asking the public to help identify a man who stole a donation jarĀ for the BC Children’s Hospital.
The theft took place at the Brooks Landing Save On Foods on Tuesday just after 3pm. Police say the 10-litre jar with several hundred dollars in coins is usually kept at the service desk.
Surveillance shows the suspect walking up to the desk, picking up the jug, then walking down a nearby aisle. He stuffed the jug into a duffel bag, then changed into an orange t-shirt before walking out of the store.
The suspect is a 30 to 35 year old white man with short hair. He was wearing a baseball cap and was seen leaving the store in an orange t-shirt and black shorts.
