The City of Duncan is footing a 45 thousand dollar bill for the tent city that developed in Charles Hoey Park back in March.
Director of Finance Talitha Soldera gives a breakdown of the major costs.
Soldera says this unexpected cost was not included in the budget, so staff recommended the costs be taken out of a police operating reserve fund.
The reserve contains money to smooth the increase in taxes that would come when the city becomes responsible for policing in the future.
This motion will go in front of council for final approval on July 17th.
