Cowichan Valley MLA Sonia Furstenau says she is working with local groups and government to discuss long term solutions to issues around housing affordability, addictions, and safety.
Furstenau says she met with the representatives from the RCMP, School District, the City of Duncan and Municipality of North Cowichan this week to discuss the issues our community is facing.
She says that everyone at the table wants to find a sustainable solution, and it’s also important to recognize the work of our local groups.
Furstenau says she recognizes these problems won’t go away without a long term solution.
A public meeting on these issues is being held at Duncan United Church on Monday at 7pm.
