Christy Clark was officially sworn in today as the Premier of BC to lead the province’s first minority government in 65 years.
But with an agreement between the Greens and NDP government, the New Democrats could form a minority government if they defeat the Liberals in a confidence vote that’s expected by the end of the month. NDP Leader John Horgan says he, along with British Columbians, is looking forward to a government that’s in it for the long run to address big issues.
Horgan says he is confident they will have the majority of support in the legislature, and is looking foward to testing that as soon as possible with a vote of confidence. He says he is excited to work collaboratively with all members of the legislature.
43 Liberals, 41 New Democrats and 3 Greens were sworn in today. The BC legislature has been recalled for June 22.
