The BC Coroners Service has confirmed it is investigating two deaths that happened as a result of a shooting at the Western Forest Products mill in Nanaimo this morning.
RCMP say the got a 911 call around 7 and were on the scene within minutes along with teams from Nanaimo Fire Rescue and BC Ambulance.
Police say they entered the building and quickly arrested a suspect.
Three people were taken to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital but 2 were pronounced dead on arrival.
One victim was taken to hospital in Victoria.
Al Thompson is a trucker who hauls from the mill. He left just before the shooting, which he says workers believe was done by a former employee.
The investigation at this point is in its most preliminary stages, and no further information is available at this point.
