32 point plan to save money

Some tough budget decisions will be up for discussion at a public meeting hosted by the Nanaimo Ladysmith School District tonight.

Facing a $5.4 million dollar shortfall, the District has come up with 32-point plan to save money.

Slashing 25 full-time support staff positions is on the list.

Rob Zver, President of the CUPE Local, representing support workers in the district says their members have faced cuts every year for at least the last decade.
