Eighty eight solar panels were installed at the Bings Creek Recycling Centre, as part of a demonstration project to highlight renewable energy technology.
CVRD Energy Manager Austin Tokarek says the solar PV system converts energy from the sun into useful electricity, at a competitive rate.
The system is expected to generate 28 thousand kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, and reduce annual electricity costs by 31-hundred dollars this year.
