British Columbians can unload old guns, ammunition or any unwanted firearms or weapons during a province-wide amnesty in October.
Minister of Public Safety, Mike Morris says anyone who wants to return firearms, weapons or ammo should call the local detachment non-emergency line first and police will come pick up the item.
In the past decade, two previous firearms amnesties in the province, in 2006 and 2013, more than 5,000 firearms, including 900 handguns and two machine guns, among other items were handed in.
