Cat Shot with Pellet Gun in Cowichan Valley

A Cowichan Valley resident reported her pet cat was shot by a pellet gun, and left for dead. The owner found her cat on her deck, lethargic and dehydrated. After a trip to the vet, and $500 later, the pellet cannot be removed and her cat continues to suffer.
Local RCMP is asking the public to report any information they have on this incident. The owner believes it must have happened between June 2nd after 9pm and June 3rd at 9am.
Corporal Krista Hobday says it is unknown whether the cat was a target, but either way, the person responsible can face charges.
It is unknown if the shooter was on the property or on the roadway near the 9000 block of Chemainus Road.
