Salt Spring RCMP are investigating a suspicious death.
Mounties responded to a fight on Richard Flack Road at approximately 4:20am Friday, where they found a 36 year old man unresponsive. Two men were performing CPR – one with minor injuries.
RCMP continued CPR until Emergency Services arrived, when they were all taken to hospital by ambulance. The 36 year old man died shortly after.
The Vancouver Island Major Crimes Unit is taking over the investigation into the suspicious death while the Independent Investigations Office of BC is looking at whether anything the police did was connected to the man’s death.
No charges have been laid at this time, and police believe there is no danger to the public.
