The trial for former Shawnigan Lake school teacher Andrew Olson began yesterday at Duncan Provincial Court.
The incidents that led to Olson’s charges allegedly took place between December 2014 and March 2015 in Shawnigan Lake and Cowichan Bay, with one alleged victim, whose identity is protected under a publication ban.
The trial continues today and Monday, with witnesses including the teenage girl who is accusing Olson. She will be allowed to submit a video testimony rather than sharing a courtroom with the accused, after the crown argued she now suffers from anxiety attacks.
Olson previously entered a not guilty plea to four charges of sexual exploitation, one of assault causing bodily harm, and one of child luring.
