The Association of Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities is hosting their 2016 AGM and convention throughout this weekend.
North Cowichan Mayor and Chair of the Cowichan Valley Regional District Jon Lefebure is looking forward to attending the convention to discuss a number of items with other municipalities. One of these is the Island Corridor Foundation and their efforts to get passenger rail reestablished on the island.
Lefebure says another key issue that will likely be brought forward is retail sales of marijuana.
Lefebure is looking forward to learning more from other jurisdictions on their plans when and if this becomes a reality.
The conventions runs today through Sunday in Nanaimo.
