A spokesperson for Warmland House in Duncan says it may not seem terribly cold out for most of us, but for the homeless it’s been miserable.
The extreme weather shelter for the homeless, which usually only opens when it is cold, raining or snowing has been open more days than usual this winter and has been at capacity.
James Tousignant says the good news is 5 extra beds has meant the shelter has been able to provide services to all those who needed them…..
A new extreme weather shelter in Ladysmith, with ten beds, has also been busy this season.
