The Wilderness Committee is glad a logging company wasn’t granted a nine-month extension on an injunction in the Walbran Valley on Vancouver Island.
Teal Jones wanted to extend and expand the injunction to keep people from visiting an area of old growth forest they’re in the process of logging.
Joe Foy with the Wilderness Committee says the original injunction ran out December 14th.
This week, the Port Renfrew Chamber of Commerce added their voice to the call to save what remains of old growth forests on the island.

They issued a statement calling on the province to protect the Central Walbran Valley, which is a popular tourist destination.
